System freezes unpredictably.
Hello, I’m facing some trouble with my computer. GTA Five kept crashing during streaming sessions. After a full wipe and reinstall of Windows 11, it’s still working unless I launch streaming apps or go live on Twitch. Recently, while testing certain software, the system crashed unexpectedly—only Discord was open for voice chat. A memory test came back normal. All updates and drivers are current, plus the Windows installation is complete. Now I’m encountering a kernel power error message. I don’t have any spare components to replace parts. mb- gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite R7 5800X with ICIE H150, EVGA RTX 3060 Ti, DDR4 3200 CL16, 2 x8GB RAM, 750GB NVMe (Windows 11 install), Team M33 Pro, PSU 650W PSU. *edit* At this point, the problem started only with GTA Five crashing; OBS continued streaming and my PC was stable. Last night it first displayed a BSOD and crashed completely. I confirmed the game on Steam. So far, I haven’t tried other titles. My next steps are to run CineBench for a 30-minute stress test to monitor CPU/Memory temperatures and PSU voltages, then perform a GPU benchmark. Thanks, I’m at a loss about what to check. It might be the issue—check if XMP is actually turned on. You assumed it was enabled, but it wasn’t.
I completed the memory test using memtest86, which showed everything was okay—only four tests were allowed with a total time of two and a half hours. I restarted it this morning. For tonight I’ll try other diagnostics because I’m busy from last night. I expected the issue to be related to RAM. I also ran CineBench to check GPU performance, and my CPU temperature reached 86.3°C before dropping shortly afterward.
I'm not sure about AMD, but XMP is Intel's feature, so it would be unusual to have it on an AMD chip. You might want to turn it on, and if that fails, lower the speed and see if it works. On my system, even with Intel, XMP doesn't boot properly without it... it seems quite inconsistent.
