Sure, I can help with that. Just let me know if you'd like it rephrased further.

I turned on the GPU's VBios right away after discovering it had mining VBios, since it caused an AMD software issue.

I think it’s possible the settings were adjusted elsewhere, not just in AMD software. If you’re unsure, you can reset everything to the default. You might want to reduce the power limit on the card. I recall my Polaris card performed well at 85% or -15%. Polaris GPUs tend to handle heat better than RDNA models. An rx570 could likely reach about 70°C, but that’s pushing limits. Don’t get discouraged—many mining cards still have good life left if handled properly. There are solid deals available if you put in the work.

You could risk losing all changes by simply turning off and restarting your PC, even with minor adjustments like fan speeds.

Wasn't being salty, just trying to figure out what he's after. He has another thread with a card that he let us know fairly late it was a mining card. If it IS the intent to snag good deals on mining cards, then we don't have to focus on other deals or new parts. We can try to work this thru.

You can definitely update the standard VBIOS to check how the card functions. As with all BIOS updates, avoid stopping the process to prevent damaging your card. TechPowerUP maintains a comprehensive collection of video card BIOS versions, so you should be able to locate the appropriate one there.

the sapphire rx570 nitro+ includes a bios switch i previously used to change from the mining vbios to the standard one. checking gpuz shows that the normal vbios version matches the one listed in techpowerup's vbios collection database.

No changes were made recently. The GPU was already stable before. I haven’t stress tested the component alone. Would you like me to install OCCT and run stability tests there? For instance, I can perform PowerTest with the GPU set to the lowest power and gradually increase it by 10%. How would the crashes appear? BSOD, freezing, or a completely black screen?

Set set set set set. You already have the standard BIOS. Now you should try connecting your card to another machine to check if it works the same or if the problem disappears. It’s possible some parts are bad—capacitors and resistors can wear out over time, not just the chips—and figuring out what’s wrong can be tough unless you’re a technician.

crashes began to show up about three weeks after I received my RX570 (within the 14-day return warranty). The screen went black, everything functioned normally until my computer shut down abruptly—no warnings or shutdown animations. I suspected occasional GPU-related bluescreens but couldn’t recall specific error codes, experiencing around four of them in total.
