Switch to Windows 10?
It would be best to avoid Linux and opt for Windows unless your programs specifically need Linux support and haven’t been adapted for Windows yet.
Many prefer different appearances for Windows, but I believe Windows 10 (and 8) offer superior stability and efficient resource use. That alone makes it a worthwhile upgrade. Additionally, newer features like DX12 have been incorporated. In reality, Windows 8.x was the quickest and most reliable version I've experienced. Windows 10 is only marginally slower.
If you're unsure about the reasons behind installing Windows 10, it might not matter much. It's essentially an upgraded version of Windows 7 with many additional features added. Windows isn't faster, more reliable, safer, more compatible, or resource-efficient than Windows 7. In fact, switching to Windows 10 could be a way to take advantage of certain psychological factors. I believe Windows 7 offers better stability, security, and lower system usage compared to Windows 10. I've shared many comparisons between the two in this blog, testing both on my machine. Without the noticeable UI changes, persistent notifications, or intrusive ads in Windows 10, most users wouldn't easily distinguish between the two operating systems.
