System details: Intel Core i7-5820k paired with Noctua NH-D15 cooler on ASUS X99-A EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC Samsung 850 EVO 250GB x2 (RAID 0) running OS/apps/games, Corsair RM750 Kingston Fury Hyper X 4x4GB DDR4-2400 with Minecraft 1.8 and Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders. Normal map: On Specular Map, Off Render. Performance metrics: ShadowREsMul 1.0000, Hand Depth 0.1250, CloudShadow off, Video settings: Graphics - Fancy Smooth Lighting, Max 3D off, Clouds off (skybox), Mipmap Levels 4, VBOs enabled, Render distance 20 chunks, Framerate unlimited, Bobbing on, Brightness moody, Particles reduced, VSync on. When playing Minecraft locally I see significant lag. Underground play gives 45-59 FPS; above ground it drops to 19-40 FPS. Unknown why this happens. Others report higher FPS with similar configurations. Got any suggestions?
I’d probably test Optifine together with the shaders to check for improvements. Make sure you’re using a 64-bit Java installation and consider increasing the memory allocation.
Reduce the rendering range and increase memory allocation for Minecraft.
Adjust render distance to 16 Off V Sync Graphics for quicker performance
