System details: Intel Core i7-5820k paired with Noctua NH-D15 cooler on ASUS X99-A EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC Samsung 850 EVO 250GB x2 (RAID 0) running OS/apps/games, Corsair RM750 Kingston Fury Hyper X 4x4GB DDR4-2400 with Minecraft 1.8 and Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders. Normal map: On Specular Map, Off Render. Performance metrics: ShadowREsMul 1.0000, Hand Depth 0.1250, CloudShadow off, Video settings: Graphics - Fancy Smooth Lighting, Max 3D off, Clouds off (skybox), Mipmap Levels 4, VBOs enabled, Render distance 20 chunks, Framerate unlimited, Bobbing on, Brightness moody, Particles reduced, VSync on. When playing Minecraft locally I see significant lag. Underground play gives 45-59 FPS; above ground it drops to 19-40 FPS. Unknown why this happens. Others report higher FPS with similar configurations. Got any suggestions?

Hey, with my 780 and 4790k I manage around 300k fps at the lowest settings while keeping VSync enabled.

I’d probably test Optifine together with the shaders to check for improvements. Make sure you’re using a 64-bit Java installation and consider increasing the memory allocation.

Be mindful of how much memory you assign to Minecraft, as I usually keep it near the amount of RAM available.

It seems NVM... Vsync could be handling it. I noticed everything runs smoothly without it, but when it's active, things feel choppy and heavy, almost like the mouse isn't on a good surface.

This shader package is quite large. Have you considered using OptiFine? It might be worth a try.
