Strange Windows 10 Issue please help
Hey everyone, I'm facing a few small but bothersome issues with Windows 10. When I right-click an icon on the taskbar, the menu keeps going up and looping. It's similar in Windows Settings too. Occasionally it affects the Photos app, making pictures zoom in and out too quickly. I've tried unplugging the mouse and keyboard, but that doesn't solve anything. There are two videos that demonstrate the problem: Video 1 and Video 2.
Use the software that triggers the "up" key press. Enter Safe Mode in Windows (Start > Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Advanced startup > Restart) or go to UEFI/BIOS and restart. This usually resolves the issue. Then investigate why such a key press is being sent—review your keyboard/mouse drivers, remove any installed software, scan for malware, disconnect all USB devices, and examine startup programs and Task Scheduler entries.
I don't believe the software is sending the up key because it doesn't scroll up on pages, in Microsoft Word, or while reading a PDF. I'll give it another shot—it's worth trying. Thanks for taking the time to reply; your update means a lot.
It's hard to find a suitable term for the issue, so searching online might not yield clear results.
I located the answer—it turned out my PS3 controller, linked through an SCP driver, was positioned oddly, and I never thought it could manage Windows menu commands. That’s quite surprising!
