You can move Windows from your current HDD to the new SSD without formatting it. Just transfer the files and you’ll be set to use the full 1TB space for general storage.

Transfer data from the 1TB HDD to an alternative storage solution (such as an external HDD). Formatted and ready to copy directly. Don’t move old files—they’re scattered and disorganized.

Make sure all crucial data is backed up, disconnect the hard drive, swap it in with an SSD, and install Windows onto that device while keeping the original HDD connected. Adjust the boot sequence in BIOS to prioritize the SSD. After connecting the old HDD, restart, format the new drive, reinstall everything, and move important files. Linus has created some tutorials for NCIX if you need assistance.

Yes, it can work. You can install Windows on the SSD without connecting the HDD first, then plug in the HDD, move files from the HDD to the SSD, and finally format the HDD afterward. This avoids the hassle of uploading to the cloud.

It would function properly. Just remember to remove the product key from the HDD(slmgr /upk) once you've activated it, especially if activation didn't succeed—sometimes it does. After that, run SLAI 2.
