Typically the two USB ports above the analog PS2/mouse connection are mainly for connecting a keyboard and mouse. You don’t need to rely on USB3 ports for that. If your issue can be fixed using these two ports, keep them as is. You should only replace your motherboard with a B550 or X570 if you suspect compatibility problems with Ryzens 3xxxx and 5xxx models, even after BIOS updates—manufacturers often claim support. I’ve noticed many cases where the “supported” label on motherboards is misleading.

I just got the store to swap out my motherboard, which should solve the problem. Otherwise, it might be the CPU—just like in your situation. Overall, I’m happy things are working fine on your end.
