Check if the connection uses a patch cable or passes through wall jacks.
You link your modem or router to the switch, then route cables from the switch to various devices. You can connect one of those devices directly to the router to check speeds. Also, verify in the modem/router settings that the port you’re using supports 1Gbps.
The cabling inside your wall isn’t meeting expectations. It might support a phone line—10/100 requires just two pairs, while gigabit needs all four. There could also be poor connections at one of the main points; excessive crosstalk at one end might force your device to drop to 100 megabits if it can’t handle gigabit traffic. Try linking to a different port on the wall jack, using the same cable you’re using for your PC. Or move the PC to a reliable connection point where it gets a full gigabit link.
Review the adapter configurations in Device Manager. An advanced setting allows you to set it to 100mbps.
