Stay on Android or switch to iOS?
I enjoy the S8 because of its curve, but the iPhone offers the smallest bezels and bottom.
I'm about to ignite a heated discussion. Facetime isn't something I rely on. iMessage became the norm after iOS 10. The blue bubbles are satisfying, and it performs well compared to other apps. Switching to another service often drains more battery, and some apps just don’t work as smoothly. With the 6s+, the 5 model had better camera quality, but that’s not a big deal. As long as photos look decent, I’m fine. iOS introduced file system support around iPhone OS 2, though jailbreaking is needed for full access. It’s frustrating when you can’t reach your files or download data, but it’s understandable considering how many people use iPhones. When storage runs low on a 16GB device, they might delete everything unless you jailbreak. I don’t care about aesthetics—just make things easier in my life. iOS innovation feels like a joke. It’s time to catch up with Android since iOS... 6? Sure, updates can slow things down and add more background activity. The UI gets nicer but demands more power. You can skip updates, but Apple won’t let you.
I own both an iPhone SE and an S8plus, but now I’m stuck with a Note 8. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I’m unlikely to buy another iPhone again—design changes have really put me off. The battery life on my SE is clearly the best I’ve experienced so far, and it performs perfectly. I recommend you look for a relatively newer iPhone and give it a try until the upgrade period ends, then see if you enjoy it based on your own experience.
