I put the SSD into my setup and it functions, but the download speed remains low. The issue might be related to the connection or file transfer settings.

What model of SSD do you have? What is your CPU? How quickly does your internet speed run?

Are you downloading content from the web? The download limit is mainly determined by your internet service provider's speed.

your connection speed is 500 mbit, but your friend is downloading at 10-20 mbps while you're at 50-60 mbps.

Checking your Sandisk 1TB SSD, there are multiple Sanisk SSDs available. Could you provide the model number? Your setup is being discussed, and I need to know your operating system. If it's USB, connect it to the fastest USB 3 port on your motherboard.

Unlikely the issue lies with the SSD. A contemporary HDD should handle 50-60 MB/s writing. For a self-check, use tools like https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/. Are you downloading via Steam or a shared server? Consider running a speed test at https://www.speedtest.net/ to assess your connection independently.

Same ISP and area? That might be unusual. It could indicate an issue on your network leading to packet loss, affecting overall speed and latency. Have you checked speedtest.net?
