Expressing our final thoughts to Square Enix. Today they’ve moved many of their titles to Humble Bundle as a final gesture to support their staff before the company shuts down. This isn’t the first time—THQ did something similar not too long ago before closing. It’s a fitting moment to bid farewell to the classic Square Enix.

They haven’t delivered many strong titles since the PS2 era. Perhaps a more dynamic action format instead of sticking with the traditional turn-based style in Final Fantasy would have kept me engaged.

Sleeping dogs wasn't a bad game but that was a few years ago now.

This situation appears to be more about addressing significant financial challenges rather than a desperate attempt to secure funds. There are clear indications that THQ was seeking additional resources, especially given the high asking prices for certain bundles. The context suggests they were looking for support to continue operations, not just any money. It seems this effort was framed as a necessary step to sustain their business, rather than a last-minute panic purchase.

I'm the sauce, but honestly, it's mainly guesswork. Looking at Square Enix right now, there doesn't seem like another good reason to release all their new titles cheaply.

Final Fantasy has always delivered positive experiences. Final Fantasy XV won't be turn-based. Kingdom Hearts never was turn-based. New titles coming up include Deus Ex: Human Revolution with The Fall, Hitman: Absolution, and Just Cause 2. Other games on the list? Just Cause 2 and Human Revolution are priced around $15 or more.
