These are all older SE titles... And some are actually quite solid, so... turning this discussion around offers a positive angle. It seems like a decent Humble Bundle! Nice discovery!
On current gaming platforms? Unlikely. SE has indicated it would require the same investment as creating a brand new first-person shooter. Even if demand is high, the estimated cost of $60-70+ million seems excessive. They’d likely recoup their expenses, but profit isn’t the main goal when launching a game.
The question seems to focus on certain aspects of the game development landscape. It points out differences between Kingdom Hearts 3 and other titles, mentioning the lack of a cover system in KH and the presence of a menu system that allows character changes during battles. It also references the release of Dream Drop Distance and FFXV's trailer with its cover system. The discussion touches on production costs, the amount of story work completed, and how merging different game elements could affect fan reactions.
In reality, a more plausible (and heartbreaking) situation unfolds: They aim to erase Western progress and much of Japan’s as well, pouring every available resource into a disheartening Final Fantasy project—perhaps version 15 or 16—or something equally disappointing. This trend seems to be continuing, as they remain trapped in their own arrogance and refuse to invest in other successful franchises that have clearly surpassed any expectations for the franchise.
I thought they could have simply recreated FF7 instead. Even at the same cost as a brand new game, it would perform better because it would appeal to both newcomers and longtime fans of the PS1 era, for instance, I’ve never been interested after X, though that was tempting. However, if older versions were released in high definition, I’d definitely be more engaged.
