The Sata controller was merely a restricted option in that specific BIOS. Unlocking additional functions follows the same steps.

There are two sticks available, with choices for slots A and B. My motherboard only allows dual or single channel RAM, so I chose dual channel. The model is Asus G11CD-K. I attempted to use wmic and CPU-Z, but only basic details were returned.

I’d search the places that hold memories—places from the past, moments that shaped who I am.

Personally I wouldn't try risking it. It's an OEM board, chances are you will just brick it. Atleast I wouldn't even dare to try. The risks outweigh the potential gain. Intel CPU's don't even get that much more performance from faster RAM. Doubly so for an older processor like yours. I mean sure, it would help, but not *that* much.

Check the performance gains clearly—upgrading from 12GB at 2400MHz to 16GB at 2133MHz offers a significant boost. Your i7-7700 handles the higher speed well, and both sticks use dual-channel, so the choice depends on your needs.
