I play games in a fullscreen windowed mode, but I have a 4K monitor. Still, whenever I switch to fullscreen windowed, it gets stuck at the native resolution which my older 390 can't handle much. I've tried various programs to force it into fullscreen windowed, but they either reduce the resolution or just say a fixed size like 3840 x 2160 or 1920 x 1080. I'm not sure if the issue is related to the resolution or performance on a 4K screen. This problem seems to affect most Origin games, Overwatch, and uplay titles. If anyone knows a solution or if a fix is even possible, it would be really helpful. I'd prefer not to upgrade to a 1080 resolution just for this issue.

Sure, I understand. I was thinking of calling it borderless instead. The issue is avoiding fullscreen mode, Alt-tab isn’t convenient, and I need windowed for OBS. Maybe upgrading would be the best option.

You're asking about the AMD settings. Which specific settings are you referring to?

You might be able to insert a custom resolution in AMD Catalyst. It could potentially bypass existing settings.

Sure, I've attempted this earlier, but it keeps stating the resolution isn't supported. That's why I'm choosing to skip it now.

Origin titles generally perform well, especially on the battlefield and in NFS and Dragon Age. Overwatch works too. Most other games function nicely when you enable borderless mode, similar to Arma 3 or source games. Steam remains compatible across the board.
