These images highlight those extremely sharp, pixelated shadow edges. It might be difficult to notice at first, but pay attention and you'll see it clearly. This issue also shows up with NPC and building shadows. Picture 1: http://imgur.com/a/S62IC Picture 2: http://imgur.com/a/yzv2y The following image seems to display screen tearing or some edges being cut off, visible on the right side of the wooden parts. http://imgur.com/a/HWzMf

What is your shadow's clarity like? Adjust it to be clearer or more muted and observe the effect.

The first texture remains unloaded, while the subsequent image appears distorted as poor quality AA.

FXAA is off when using MSAA because it doesn't help the issue like V-sync does. When paused, focus is lost, population density is average, and variety is low. Texture, shader, shadow, reflection, water, particles, grass, and quality are all set to normal. Soft shadows are sharp, post-processing is normal, and anisropic filtering works at x16 ambient occlusion. Adjust the settings above and you should see if the problem stems from GPU limitations or another factor.

Isn't this the default level for muted lighting? If yes, that's perfect. Your shadows appear quite normal for a game running on lower configurations.

Like, this is what my shadows look like on the highest setting (Nvidia PCSS), but I wouldn't expect a 250X to be able to handle that. http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.co...F2CB13CB7/ EDIT: Higher res screenshot

Yes, your GPU is correct. The game is adjusting the visuals to make it run smoothly on your GPU while you're using GTA V.

The game seems inactive. I’m guessing it’s using a low shadow setting, which causes sharp, uneven shadows.

Understood, I'll keep an eye on any changes to the shadows.
