Yes, it is possible too. Many anti-virus solutions, including Win Defender, maintain continuous monitoring regardless of usage. Since we can't always see which programs are active, it's difficult to determine if bloatware or malware only triggers when you interact with your PC. However, for malware, this behavior can be used to hide its activity and avoid detection.

Your clarifications are very logical, this might explain the difference between my laptop and my friend's, I'll look into it later. Thanks again for all your responses, especially your initial reply when you suggested OBS although I tried without any expectation, it piqued my interest to try it on my laptop. Appreciate that!

OBS works with GPU encoder. Activating it reduces energy use and increases CPU performance for your work. I'm running it on my junk FX8150 2.1GHz and it captures high quality at 60 FPS even while using CUDA simultaneously.

If you turn on GPU encoding, it reduces the load on your CPU even with Intel HD 620 graphics.

On the contrary, HD 620 is a weak integrated GPU located inside the CPU, which usually results in poorer performance compared to other options. The CPU will still be used. This setup only functions properly with a dedicated GPU, such as Nvidia GTX or RTX series, because those have CUDA cores—HD 620 lacks this feature and does not support them.

What encoder type should I use, like QuickSync or H.264?

The HD620 model includes hardware pipelines for HEVC encoding in both 10bits and 8bits formats. It might offer an option to select this setting within OBS. Additionally, the document states it boasts a peak performance of 384 GFLOPS.
