There’s no necessity for this... His machine runs i7-4702MQ, which is a clear improvement if he can get one at a low cost... Most options are too expensive (around 200$) so it doesn’t seem worthwhile. @YuiLow check the changes carefully.

Absolutely, just getting the correct bios support would help. If the power brick delivers enough power, it might resolve the issue, though there could still be a bottleneck.

Although it seems funny, laptops used to be designed with shared components, like all i3, i5, and i7 models using the same motherboard, power supply, and cooling system. As long as they had an integrated GPU and supported BIOS updates, everything worked perfectly. It took some research to understand, but there was always a chance to upgrade later. Anyway, we’re moving on, and I’m in agreement. It was really tough.

It caused me some issues. That device didn’t limit performance with an RTX 2080 at full speed, nor did it cause problems with an i7 9750H paired with a 1650.

I really dislike when they combine a coffee lake or a kaby lake i7 with a 1050ti or similar. It seems like I don't get it. Frame time will be awful after a while. After a few years, there'll be a bottleneck. What do these companies think? LMAO

This explains why OEM components are costly. Poor combinations exist. If you assemble a PC using identical specifications, it would cost more, yet you could use better-suited parts for improved performance at the same price.
