Hello. The issue you're facing seems related to your Vodafone DSL connection in Germany. Your router, the 'Vodafone Easy Box 804', isn't providing consistent speeds—only on devices with a 5GHz connection do you get normal speeds, while 2.4GHz devices experience slowdowns. Changing the channel didn't resolve the problem. You might want to check your modem settings, ensure the correct frequency is selected, or contact Vodafone support for further assistance.

The key problem is the distance affecting performance. Try the 5GHz network when near it to check stability, as 2.4GHz may face more channel conflicts rather than 5GHz.

Have you attempted switching the router on and off?

When he switches channels it resets, so I question it would function that way

It's in the same room but on the opposite side. The router functioned well a few months back. I'm from Serbia and currently in Germany, so I took a vacation there. Recently arrived in Germany and observed that internet speed is slower than before... The connection remains secure with a password, MAC filtering, and I mask the SSID so it's not easily accessed. Personally, I suspect the antenna might be faulty but I'm not sure. The distance isn't an issue since it worked perfectly previously.

I'll give it a shot, thanks. I didn't want to reach out right away because I thought I could handle the issue on my own. Their response time usually takes about a week or two.

The router's latest firmware is installed. They suggested connecting all devices to 2.4GHz, which seems like a simple workaround. I inquired if anyone could test the issue or if they could provide a replacement router, but they declined. What should I consider doing now?

Contact them again and request a conversation with a manager. They won’t simply say no to your service. If that happens, you should seriously think about changing companies.
