Precisely how it felt. It really frustrated me. Except for the moments around characters, water, trees, or grass, the experience was fine.

Yes, that's when the physics become relevant. The benefit is that character movement speed isn't affected by FPS, unlike some games where FPS influences the player but not the AI.

Search for tools that adjust refresh rates during game startup, especially those related to Task Scheduler or built-in Windows features.

I don't require it on this display (60Hz). For more details, check the NexusMods page for Skyrim. Note that on my 85Hz 1024x768 screen from 2002-2003, I didn't notice any physics issues.

It's feasible to turn on double v-sync, which makes the game run at half the refresh rate. This achieves around 72 FPS on 144Hz displays, effectively eliminating physics issues. A few years ago I developed a tool allowing more customization beyond the default settings, such as toggling v-sync on and off. The relevant option is found in the "plugin tweaks" section, where I've implemented support for double v-sync via this utility. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/564...6418&pUp=1 Download the software and the "120 hertz monitor physics glitch fix tweak" file, run the utility, extract the XML, move it into the program, and install it.
