Testing at 1.35V, LLC 2 with default settings; other parameters remain unchanged. Clock performance stays strong at 4600, and after 15 minutes the peak temperature reached 78°C—still within acceptable limits. I’m hoping this keeps things under 80°C overall. The temperatures have dropped since I first checked, from about 1.33V to now 1.35V, so it’s puzzling why they’re staying lower despite the slight voltage increase. I’m a bit confused but optimistic if stability continues.

Man... checking stability for another 7 hours or tweaking the voltage by a tiny bit? ::EDIT:: decided to try different settings but found 0.001 isn't an option—only 5mV steps are available. At 1.330V it lasted an hour, 1.34V about 2.5 hours, and 1.35V more than four hours. I'm going with 1.345V to see if the slight increase helps keep things steady. Fingers crossed!

At 1.330V it lasted an hour, 1.34V about 2.5 hours, and 1.35V more than four hours. I'm going with 1.345V to see if the slight increase helps keep things steady. Fingers crossed!

Just in case someone finds this later, I discovered a Reddit guide for the 9700K. It isn’t exactly what I need right now, but I might try it later—maybe lowering the multiplier below 50 since I don’t want extreme overclocking. I aim for stability and good performance without overheating. Notably, they suggest starting at 1.30V (lower than my current BIOS settings) and running at 5GHz. They also mention a higher LLC setting and a new option called SVID, which I haven’t adjusted. Here’s what the Reddit expert said: “The stock 9700K will only hit 4.9GHz when just one or two cores are under heavy load. With three or more cores, it drops to 4.8GHz, and with all eight cores loaded it reaches 4.6GHz (which matches what you observed). I strongly advise against using overclocking profiles—they tend to overvolt excessively because they’re generic. If you want a basic but likely stable 5GHz boost, reset your BIOS to defaults, then follow these steps: turn on XMP for RAM, set CPU Core Ratio to 'Sync All Cores', set multiplier to 50, disable ASUS Multi Core Enhancement, turn off CPU SVID in External Digi+ Power Control, set Loadline Calibration to level 6, adjust CPU Current Capability to 170%, set CPU Core/Cache Limit to 9999 (likely change to 255.70 or similar), change CPU Core/Cache voltage to Manual, go to Internal CPU Power Management, set Short Duration and Long Duration limits to max (4095), save and exit. I plan to keep it running for a few more hours, but it seems reliable and meeting the desired temperatures. I’m still curious about trying the method suggested on Reddit earlier, but now I have a viable solution in mind. The 1.345V setting feels high at 4.6Ghz, though some users report success at 1.300V—possibly due to cooling or silicon variations. Overall, I’m seeing solid core clock performance with no throttling and temperatures within safe limits. I’ll share again after testing the alternative approach.

Stress tests passed too, with temps hovering between 60-70°F and no throttling. The Hwmonitor didn’t show vcore above 1.312, possibly due to measurement limits. Overall, I’m satisfied with this setup and ready to start playing games.
