using simple, everyday language without sounding like a tech report:

My laptop is a Lenovo Yoga 7i with 12GB of RAM and an Intel processor that runs Windows 11 Pro. The charger plugs into the USB-C port attached to my monitor, but sometimes the connection feels loose or wobbly. I just reset the computer's software (reinstalled Windows) even though it was under warranty at first; they fixed a network problem but mostly just put back the OS without fixing everything else.

There are two strange things that happened recently:
1. On my external keyboard yesterday, the buttons for "Alt" and "Windows" got swapped around in my head software-wise. The computer shut down two separate times before today. Today it shut down again right now. I copied a list of all errors to a safe text file (Minidump) for you to read.
2. A third weird thing is that both the Alt and Windows keys got mixed up on my external keyboard yesterday, causing the computer to crash two separate times before today as well.

Here are the details:
* **Yesterday:** The computer rebooted from an unexpected crash at 7:33 PM on December 18th. The error code was 0x0000009f (a specific Windows bug). A file of errors was saved to C:\Windows\Minidump, and a list of events went up to Pastebin here.
* **Two days ago:** It crashed again at 7:44 PM on December 17th. The crash happened at 9:12 PM yesterday as well (December 17th).

The computer shut down from two different crashes recently, and the error code for both was 0x0000009f. Here are the exact details of these errors in plain English.

Fast fix for problems: Run the built-in Windows troubleshooters. They might find and fix issues. Corrupted files: run "dism" and "sfc /scannow". Here is some info: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-d...s-10-image and https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-use-sfc-...es-2626161

did troubleshooter for windows update, did not find any issues or errors, copied the whole details of what was detected but didn't see exactly what it found. tried a few other troubleshooters for miscellaneous stuff DISM ran fine, no problem detected on checkhealth scanhealth says The component store is repairable restore lagged a long time on some percent but i clicked it and it went to 100% immediately The restore operation completed successfully sfc Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them hopefully this is solved for now thanks

The reliability history and Event Viewer show a shutdown at 7:53:40 PM on December 22, 2023 that wasn't planned. The system rebooted without going through the normal shut down process first. This error can happen if the computer stopped working, crashed, or lost power suddenly. The date and time are 7:58 pm. The source is from the kernel-power log.

Keep going through Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer to get more details and error codes. The History might show a pattern of events that caused the problem again. Check the timeline as far back as you can go too. Also check Update History for any failed or bad updates before the crashes started coming back. There is nothing wrong with sending the mini-dump here. Some people around know how to read this info and find who might be the problem.

there are still some updates needed. The problem keeps coming back even when I try to run the automatic driver updates for Lenovo Service Bridge or manually install drivers for new items like BIOS and Intel graphics. Maybe I should also look at updating my RAM since it's probably just stock unless it was a special box? I can get more reports from Event Viewer and Reliability History later if needed, but yes, please reboot now that everything else is done. I updated all the Windows 11 chipset stuff from Lenovo's website here is the export from Event Viewer of Windows Logs > System: https://mega.nz/file/u41TzBgQ#gwAFQtNpud...EV3KvIWCRk. Is that okay to post? What other reports were I supposed to export? Found some crash dumps here: https://mega.nz/folder/D0UBkDBY#1DOW22yKsw9RPgz3w0H8Pg

Things got worse after May 10 when Windows failed. Maybe the update went wrong for another reason. Check all those critical App failures before May 10 and see what apps and error codes were there. Then check the same for every other failure that happened starting on May 10. After that, turn off all the unnecessary apps. If you stop the shutdowns, start adding one app at a time and wait between each addition. When those shut downs start again, that specific app is likely the problem.

I think about using Whatsapp or some web browsers, and in my Reliability History file I used Autoruns to stop certain things from starting up. Sometimes I just can't open a specific program; maybe I should try uninstalling it first. After backing up everything, on 4/29, I looked through the Event Viewer folder. There was an error saying that a driver detected a controller issue on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1. The Miniport Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #2 had a fatal power transition failure to operational power. On 4/27, there was an installation failure when Windows tried to install this update for WhatsApp Desktop with the error code 0x80073D02: 9NKSQGP7F2NH-5319275A. Maybe I should also update my Wi-Fi drivers now
