I'm worried about purchasing the game due to numerous watch Steam bans without clear reasons.

I think they're fabricating things. They seem to be exploiting others or cheating. I've been caught cheating twice and I'm running out of options. It's not about using tools like Godmode or Noclip anymore—it feels really unfair. I just didn't have the patience to keep grinding for money and experience.

Likely players modifying the game if you just enjoy it without changes, and you're not messing around, you won't get banned. I don’t know anyone who’s been banned—it's a great game!

Earlier reports highlighted GTA V's decision to prohibit individuals with modified games, often without prior notice. This included bans for having modifications that provide unfair advantages. The enforcement was automatic, meaning people might not have realized they were at risk beforehand. RS has shown strong resistance to allowing modified games.

GTA V avoids using VAC and instead employs Rockstar's internal detection system.

It's an optional part of Steamworks. Steam games might or might not include it, just like they could or couldn't use Steamworks. http://www.steampowered.com/steamworks/

In reality, there is a reason behind it. They were removed for attempting to use a mod online. R*'s anti-cheat measures are strict and will penalize even minor mods that don’t impact anyone. It’s clear that many didn’t have bad intentions, but some likely cheated or had malicious goals. It’s unlikely anyone would intentionally break the rules, but you should avoid risky behavior online.
