I don't turn anything off since you wouldn't spend $10k on a desktop to prevent errrrrr-thing from being maxed out.

I don’t notice any change beyond the aspect ratio when switching from 5:4 1280x1024 to 1920x1080 16x9. At the pixel level it looks identical.

Motion blur, AA effects, lens flares, depth of field, and V-sync are commonly used. Best results at the lowest settings to maintain the highest FPS, unless you're already above 200.
