Setting up my stream
Setting up my stream
So, I'am trying to stream fortnite with my Intel core i5 7500 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB. Program I'am using is streamlabs and i know the problem is in encoder. Every time I use NVENC encoder, I experience a lot of input lag in fortnite. It's basically unplayable for me as a semi-pro player. On the other hand, the stream is running smooth. Atleast it is watchable. When i use Software (264x) encoder, i feel like gameplay doesn't change at all. The only issue is that game is not loading textures and stream is skipping frames, a lot of them. It's basically unwatchable. My internet connection is stable 50 download and 5 upload. Any advices? (I'am aiming for game experience as playing with software (264x) and stream quality with NVENC)
Isn't NVIDIA using its own streaming solution? Could be worth considering. Many YouTubers have tried it before. Obs could be another free alternative. Also, your streamlabs issue with x264 might relate to bitrate. X265 should be a more efficient encoder for CPU use.
Streamlabs relies on the OBS platform, which might not fix the problem. For the NVIDIA setup, you're correct—connecting a compatible streaming service is the best approach. The overlay customization options are better handled through that method.
I previously attempted that, and the streaming felt identical to using the NVENC encoder—slow but manageable. I’m now checking if using the x264 encoder would be more feasible on my PC.
You might consider using Shadowplay for capturing or Intel QuickSync as the renderer in OBS. I'm not sure if these are available in the Streamlabs version.
I've talked about shadowplay earlier and i dont see quicksync in streamlabs anywhere
what exactly does it do? I can probably switch to obs if theres no other option.
