Set up Pop OS for gaming on a fresh SSD but encountered some problems :(
I just tried to understand why sudo is needed here. After some reading, I think I’ll remember it. The issue with my root password isn’t working, but I managed to change the fstab using the terminal. Editing and saving helped a bit, though the drive still won’t let me create folders or copy files. I’m now using the terminal again—drives appear in /media/username. I need to navigate there with cd and try a different approach.
Inside the terminal, I want to see hidden folders. What command should I use?
well ive got futher ... I just cant find the dam fecking root "area" in terminal .... heres the last bit of my terminal session - as you can see .... im just having problems navigating to the area i think i need to go to
The system clearly supports the drive, but I need to confirm if your "timeshift" settings are configured to utilize the full 195GB storage. I was planning to use it for installing Steam games and saving my progress.
The term "/` is fundamentally linked to the filesystem. Navigate to it using "cd /".
It's only the method you use to reach it that matters, not its purpose. Timeshift can't be set to point to another location, so if you need your partition elsewhere, we can adjust it and let the /timeshift folder connect to that drive automatically. It doesn't really matter either way.
