Please review all connections thoroughly. Remove the CPU and examine the socket closely for any bent pins. Wipe CMOS overnight. Would there be anything else you'd like to do?

I’m assuming there are no bent pins, but you can’t verify that yourself. The original CPU was a Pentium G870, which doesn’t function. I attempted to install an i5 3570, but it also didn’t work. It seems the motherboard uses an LGA 1155 socket.

The sticky residue on the left side of the socket and the substance at the bottom are likely cleaning materials or lubricants used during maintenance.

The device worked when you began? Sorry, I can't really assist with cleaning—maybe some paper towels would help. Regarding your new CPU, it seems it might be quite power-hungry. I looked into the specifications from the manufacturer; all the CPUs listed are 65W, which suggests the motherboard may not support more than that. You can check the wattage details here: https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/P.../G870.html. I also upgraded my dad's laptop a few years back, and 30 watts made a noticeable difference.
