The name suggests activity on my taskbar while the computer is idle. CPU usage is low at 11%, but GPU usage is at full capacity at 100%. I tried running some antivirus programs to check for malware, but nothing came up. It’s also using all my GPU power, which is unusual. Could be a miner or something else? Please assist me!

It's a feature you can turn off, it won't change anything. After disabling it, please inform us of TaskMan's feedback on the matter.

Net runtime optimization is a Windows service that precompiles .NET assembly files to speed up .NET program execution. It operates only when the computer is idle. Its speed depends on how many .NET programs you have installed, their size, and your PC's performance, which may take several minutes to finish.

I don’t understand how to turn it off. It stayed on all night after I left my computer on to check if it would complete the optimization. It’s frustrating.

Have you checked if the system is running smoothly? Try restarting your PC to refresh the service. If that didn’t help, see if any installed programs are interfering. In the Service panel (Start > type: Services > pick: Services), locate the problematic service, click it twice, choose Disable from the dropdown, then Stop, Apply. That should resolve the issue.

It wasn’t locked in the previous night; it continued and nothing was completed. It isn’t available on services since it appears only when idle, and it vanishes when the mouse is moved.

Hey! It looks like you're having trouble with .NET Optimization on Windows. Check the Microsoft blog for more details. Also, you mentioned you're not on a PC—let me know if you need help with something else.

The issue is really frustrating because the service disappears whenever I shift the mouse. I attempted to restart my computer, but it freezes at 30% and no method seems to resolve the problem.

You're experiencing the same issue repeatedly, with full GPU usage but the application disappearing when you move your mouse. It's frustrating. When does it stop running?

Keep the computer running in standby mode and prevent it from entering sleep.
