Hey, just a brief query—Witcher 3 is currently discounted, and I’ve always been curious about it. I’m wondering if it’s best to start with the other two titles first. Even though there are many discussions online with varying opinions, I value your thoughts. Thanks! VicRik
The Witcher 3 is playable on its own, yet for a deeper connection to the narrative and characters, it's recommended to revisit earlier titles. While I enjoy the Slavic folklore elements in The Witcher 3, I prefer the story and characters over that aspect, so I haven't returned to older games. However, I have friends who have explored all of them.
The Game of the Year version is highly suggested. Every additional pack offers the same depth as today's triple-A releases.
The experience is rewarding, though it carries a somber tone. Few missions conclude positively; most don’t. A few offer emotional depth. I’m ready to share details if you’re interested. It’s an engaging and immersive adventure.
the first 2 games dont really hold up to todays standards in my opinion, they are fun, but the combat is a pain in the ass and they're difficult to get in to. i say skip them completely so you dont get put off and decide to to play the 3rd one. you dont need to play the other games to understand whats going on. a lot of it is actually explained in game. i havent personally had a chance to play the expansions, but i do highly suggest getting them, so much content added its worth it. if you really want the lore, and more in depth knowledge, read the books. they are amazing. and the pdf versions of them can be found online.
