I'm thinking about swapping my 2400MHz 2x8GB RAM for a 3200MHz version, but it would cost an extra $20 plus shipping from Amazon.

The B450M mortar performs well, along with the B450M gaming version—consider choosing either.

If I were you, faster RAM would always be beneficial.

It's a good idea, Ryzen works better with quicker RAM.

If that $20 brings you a better upgrade elsewhere (like CPU or GPU), it will offer more performance gains. Otherwise, the only solid reason is the price difference.

I appreciated the forum and everyone's input, so it depends on what you prefer—gaming plus or mortar?

I would mention specific users to make my responses visible. My preferred choice is the ASRock B450M Steel Legend Micro ATX, as it offers excellent VRM cooling. For selecting a suitable B450 motherboard, check this list; most B450 boards fall under Tier C.

Ah yes, the tiers don't lie (hopefully), but I think the B450M Steel Legend is actually tier D while the gaming plus and mortar are tier C
