I own a Ryzen 5950x with GIGABYTE B550M AORUS ELITE rev. 1.1. All tests were done in Prime95, Cinebench 23, and OCCT temperature stayed near 75°C. However, running 3DMax or Blender 3.3 LTS causes the PC to crash or lose picture display. I need to connect power supply 1/0 to start the system properly.
We test three distinct power supplies of 450/550/750W, two different motherboards—GIGABYTE B550M AORUS ELITE rev. 1.1, MSI B450M GAMING PLUS—and KINGSTON 32GB and a few others, including some with 16GB RAM. We use the same CPU class for all trials. The model that worked best was the G3200G across both motherboards. We also tried two different SSD Kingston units with various systems: W11, W10 and W10, plus three different VGA graphics cards.
Based on the GPU model, you might exceed 750 watts during startup. This could also account for its compatibility with the 3200G, which consumes less power.
