I purchased my PC from Maplin approximately two years ago, and it is exhibiting significant performance issues and frequent malfunctions. However, based on the specifications below, I question whether upgrading components such as the processor is necessary.

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5 7400 @ 3.00GHz – Kaby Lake 14nm Technology
RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel – Unknown @ 1066MHz (13-15-15-28)
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. H110M-R (LGA1151)
Graphics: 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (NVIDIA)

If performance is slow, consider formatting your HDD and SSD and updating your drivers.

My computer's startup takes approximately 10 minutes, and VR games experience severe lagging despite my PC being VR-ready.

A prolonged startup time suggests the possibility of malware. Given that it was purchased used, has Windows been reinstalled recently? Updating drivers and performing recent malware/virus scans are recommended. Ensure Windows is fully updated.

It was purchased new, not used, and I have reset it numerous times. Currently, I am defragging it to assess if that improves performance.
