I bought GTA5 for my PC but it keeps freezing when I try to use other programs or features. (Tab out, volume settings, recording tools, overlays)

I don't have any hardware, but I can help you figure out your specs if you share the details!

Run GTA in windowed borderless or windowed mode to avoid automatic minimization when the screen goes out of focus. Playing with a controller lets you launch GTA and use your mouse and keyboard while it runs in windowed mode. Your computer may freeze, show a white tint, display a blue screen, or just stop entirely if GTA has a white overlay.

You see many processes active at once, likely exceeding your system's capacity.

Recording software, if GTA uses 70%, your software likely consumes over 29% during recording, depending on what you're using.

I was just pointing out the things that end the game. If I accidentally pressed a button to show an overlay like Xbox or Relive, it would lock everything.

Have you considered restoring the game by reinstalling it completely, just like for GTA5? Cleaning your disk with Ccleaner might also help remove unwanted files.

It began functioning properly on the first time I set it up. I plan to reinstall it, which should take around two hours at most.
