The Lego games are interesting, but their performance with a mouse and keyboard isn't always clear.

Fragmented Realm, Constructor of Confinement, Total War titles, Magic Energy and Strategy games—just a selection among many.

Not sure if it's too intense, but TF2?

We evaluated it! It's a solid choice.

Terraformers is superior, and it should be simpler for parents to manage the kids.

Terraria and Minecraft offer distinct experiences, with Terraria being engaging but requiring a save file for extended play.

We’re all in agreement about this. In Minecraft you own your save file, which means you build your own world. Terraria is similar, but you also get to create a character and have a lot more content. I don’t see why people dislike it for being 2D—its content is so rich that it more than makes up for the format.

I haven't played Minecraft either. Just saying that if I were a kid at a bowling alley, I wouldn't want to jump into Terraria without any prior experience. It's a solid game, but it might not fit the vibe he's going for right now. Getting into Terraria takes time, especially for someone new.

Likely just a small addition beyond Minecraft, meaning many of the games I suggested might not function properly.
