Searching for a motherboard with the most SATA ports available.
I aim to combine my SATA SSDs into a single unit so I don’t need extra power supplies for data access. I’m looking for a motherboard with at least six SATA ports, such as two PCI slots for RAID controllers, fully buffered RAM (maybe DDR2), and preferably a non-proprietary design. Thanks ahead! Would you prefer a more up-to-date option? Do you have a CPU in mind?
Looking for the latest motherboard with six SATA ports? This LGA 775 model fits the bill. Most modern boards come with similar ports. Prices are listed on PCPartPicker, showing options like the AMD Athlon 200GE and G.Skill memory bundles. Shipping costs, taxes, and discounts are included in the total shown.
Looking for an affordable option with a minimum of one PCI slot for a SATA RAID card. You need enough drives—at least ten—to support your setup.
This board offers everything and is up-to-date, featuring one of the most affordable CPUs with built-in graphics. If you prefer something different, consider a NAS, though it comes with a higher price tag.
You're referring to the M.S.I. It lacks a PCI slot, so the main challenge is finding a PCI slot for the RAID card and memory. I need at least 16 GB but want something affordable—hardware priced around 4 GB DDR2 modules can be expensive (like the V7 4GB DDR2 800MHz at $85, pushing total costs to $340), which isn't ideal. Fully buffered dimms such as the Samsung 2Rx4 PC2-5300F-555-11-E0 are more budget-friendly, starting from about $7 up to $20, making them a better option compared to those mentioned in the November 4, 2019 update by Justasking.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XCzZxr/...gaep45ud3r This one for example ? PCI-E x16 Slots 1 PCI-E x8 Slots 0 PCI-E x4 Slots 0 PCI-E x1 Slots 3 PCI Slots 3 SATA 3 Gb/s 6
I compared it to another example, but the issue remains with the storage. Reaching 16 GB would cost $340, which isn’t something I can afford.
