Your setup sounds logical. You're planning to connect your Asus router to a network switch, then the switch to your PC and NAS. Make sure the switch supports Gigabit Ethernet for smooth performance. For a NAS, you'll need at least two Gigabit connections. A good Gigabit switch would be one rated for 2 or more ports at 1000 Mbps.

Most unmanaged network switches are similar. Choose popular brands such as TP-Link or Netgear with sufficient ports for your requirements.

My router isn’t positioned easily—I can’t relocate it freely and only have one cable connected to my PC at the moment.
