I'm searching for tools that can terminate another program after a certain period of inactivity. This is typically needed when a paid, company-licensed software runs with limited access. Are there similar solutions available?

The software license associated with session IDs is not standard and may vary by platform. It seems unusual, so you might want to check the documentation for specifics.

Really frustrating! My previous machine had this issue too. The task manager doesn’t force programs to close or stop processes. Sometimes a program will tell it to quit, but if it doesn’t, you’re left with the problem. Certain software can override this behavior and actually halt processes.

I checked around and handed the green drive from my old computer to my brother after he needed a format. He gave me an 8-character code that seemed to fit our naming style back then.

Talking to my brother helped me figure out the program name. I’m glad the new system isn’t causing issues. The previous version was mainly for removing malicious processes.

Found it. Process explorer. Proceed with caution. A reboot will erase everything you've done here. For your current session, stopping the wrong thing could have serious consequences. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/sysi...96653.aspx Process explorer. This was my go-to tool—mainly for removing trojans and halting virus propagation during deletion attempts. Could be handy for your app. You might prefer an external admin tool if you need more control.
