Hello. For your Intel Pentium e5700 at 3.00 GHz, you’ll want a motherboard supporting USB 3.0. The options on PCPartPicker are confusing, so look for one with USB 3.0 ports. Your current setup includes a BEYIMEI PCIe card, which is helpful. If the board already has it, that’s ideal for freeing up space for a dedicated GPU. Regarding a GTX 760, it should work if the motherboard supports it.

If your setup is quite old, saving money isn't worth it. Upgrading it now would be more cost-effective than replacing it completely with a much newer version.

Only a few boards offer rear USB3.0 connections, while none provide USB 3.0 headers on the board.

He isn’t interested in using it anymore. A former colleague tried to bring some fresh perspective, wanting to keep it because it hasn’t been used much. He recently bought a new one years ago but kept it hidden since he had to relocate. He’s not planning to use it often—just for browsing the web—and is curious if it could work for retro gaming.

Absolutely, even a $50 motherboard is a huge deal. It’s like comparing a top-of-the-line Pentium to this amazing setup—every detail inside is far superior.

PCPartPicker lists four motherboards compatible with the 775 socket. Based on your budget, the most affordable option currently is around $129.99. It's the MSI G41M4-F Micro ATX LGA775 board. Other choices include Intel DQ45EK Mini ITX and LGA775, Asus P5G41-M LE/CSM, and Intel DP43BF ATX models.
