So after running it in 8-core mode I see scores around 13k+, I compared it to a 5800X that hits over 14k+. My guess was it might be due to heat or power limits, or maybe the design with four cores per CCX/chiplet acts more like Zen2. I know Cinebench isn’t too sensitive to memory issues, which makes me wonder if L3 cache really matters in gaming. If that’s the case, should I still prefer this machine over the 5800X? My motherboard is an ASRock B450M Pro4 with dual 3600MHz RAM (2x16). What am I trying to find out? I’m just trying to see if it actually lives up to its claims.
The 5800x3d achieves over 14k, while my 5800x3d scores around 14.7k on r23. I suspect 5800x can reach near 16k. Have you divided the CPU into four cores per core? It might help to turn off one core and run all eight on a single core for better performance. The stutters you're seeing are likely caused by delays between the cores.
It's no longer available. The issue likely came from the small case, the FX-8370 cooler, or the limited power of the budget board. I can turn off one CCX completely, but having more L3 cache and two extra cores would be better. In a way, you could compare it to a 3700X with Zen3 cores and more memory.

It hit 95c while playing, so I think running R23 might not be a good idea... (this is just a gaming rig, no need for work tools)
