Ryzen 9 5900X with just eight cores and R23 ratings
It seems the setup and cooling helped, but I still think the combination of the case and cooler played a role. I added two fans—80mm at the back and 70mm front with some tweaks. The front fan is adjusted to track CPU temperatures. The cooler model is a 125W thermal solution; I thought the FX-8370 was getting too hot, though it might have been manageable in a larger case. Could be worth testing! Thanks for all the advice!
The 125W cooler isn’t sufficient for the 5900W system, which operates near 150W under full load and can hit 240W with higher PL. A more efficient cooler could help.
I'll check if we can fit a larger case. I have an extra Hyper 212 Evo available.
The 212Evo performs better than a stock AMD Wraith yet struggles with the 5900X. The 5900X offers the highest heat output and power consumption among AMD AM4 CPUs. My previous 360mm AIO was sufficient, but without it, I’d have chosen a cooler like the 5800X instead (I had a cooler in the 212Evo’s price range).
5950X clearly offers greater power capacity compared to the 5900X. Running it with air cooling works well with a quality air cooler, and it can handle up to 180W even without fans on the air cooler. The 5900X also performs adequately when cooled properly.
