Hi, I completed my build yesterday. I noticed problems when using the first slot from the CPU and then the third one in RAM, causing safe mode even though I set the clock speed to 3600MHz. Switching to the second and fourth slots works fine at that speed. I’m trying to use all sticks in single-channel mode (first A then B) without issues. I’m unsure what to do next—I’ve sent the motherboard back to Amazon, but I’m worried it might be an IC fault. I installed a Noctua NHD15 and gently tightened the voltage screws. My motherboard is an X570 WS Ace Pro from Asus. I really need this PC to function, so I’m considering returning the CPU.

Do you have four RAM sticks available? If yes: From a technical standpoint, your CPU isn't assured to operate at 3600Mhz, though it should be capable of doing so. Consider checking the RMA process. If no: No need to stress about it. The IMC is built to prioritize slots 2 and 4 before 1 and 3, so missing only slots 1 and 3 could cause issues.

No, it's not wrong to install B1 and A1.

No, they shouldn't run the same.

It's incorrect. The first position isn't the nearest to the CPU.

It's okay to try a 3400 MHz clock speed if your system handles it well. I assumed something was wrong with the hardware, but maybe it's just a matter of performance expectations.

You're asking for clarification on what "3400" refers to and confirming the 3600MHz claim. It seems you want a concise explanation of the terminology and verification of the frequency details.

I use slot B1 A1 but the sticks don't reach their full frequency because I load the doccp (xmp) and the system switches to safe mode. When I downclock to 3400 instead of 3600, the system operates normally. All other slots (single and dual) work at full frequency, while only A1 and B1 function properly.

It's recommended to start with A2/B2 and then proceed to A1/B1 during upgrades. Using only A1/B1 might not perform as effectively as with four active dimmers because of improper technical termination.
