They essentially evaluate numerous chips and generate a frequency/voltage curve for the poorest sample. The remaining ones are then assured to be stable. And (appearently) that's all they focus on.

never played assassin's creed odyssey but all the games i do play run smoothly above 60fps (according to amd overlay). none of them have limitations, i use amd enhanced sync and found that restricting fps disrupts the enhancement so i leave it alone. currently there’s no stutter or tearing, which suggests it works well. my other titles include skyrim, gta v, dauntless, metro exodus, destiny 2, blair witch, observer, and more. some are faster, like dauntless during a hunt with lots of animations and explosions, so does gta v as well. all these games exceed 60fps on max settings, especially when motion blur is off. my graphics card stays far from stock temperatures, and i haven’t seen it reach 70°c even after undervolting. i often play for hours at a time.

My RX480 Nitro+ reaches 1400mhz at full power. It's definitely audible and not too quiet, but still acceptable.
84c runs a bit hotter. However, in games I wouldn't anticipate such high temperatures.
