RTX 2070 maintains consistent performance below 60% usage.
I've tested this in WW3 Rust and even the Mw2 beta I was achieving 60 fps on low settings with uncapped frame rates and everything. I just don't understand why I can't push above 60% of the specs. Your setup includes: Ryzen 7-3700x, 16 GB RAM, 3000 MHz DDR4 (XMP enabled), 1 TB NVMe SSD, RTX 2070, 8 GB GDDR6, 144 MHz overclock with NVidia software.
It's not unusual for players to aim for higher percentages in other titles as well, including Rust.
Your RAM operates at 3000 MHz in XMP settings, but it can run at higher clock speeds within the same configuration.
It depends on the game you're playing. Lower graphics settings mean less strain on your GPU, while higher graphics demand more from it. Rust primarily uses the CPU rather than the GPU. In MW2 I'm not sure about the specifics. Trying a GPU-heavy game like Cyberpunk can help you see the impact. (Esports games usually rely more on the CPU.)
Use MSI Afterburner to monitor usage percentages; Task Manager works inconsistently.
XMP isn't inherently bad, but it can affect performance. Enabling XMP for your RAM at 3000MHz might not be ideal if you're aiming for maximum speed. Consider keeping XMP disabled and sticking to your 3000MHz setting unless you need specific memory features.
