Rift S vs Rift CV1
I think Oculus struggles with launching games bought from Steam. It works well for its own platform, that's certain.
It's cool you had that experience with Oculus Home. I've only noticed it sometimes not detecting me when I used it a few times, but it's not the typical situation.
You're the first person I've talked to who actually owns a Pimax!
If I chose Launch in VR (Oculus) from Steam, the games typically worked well.
I was using the DCS World standalone client, which wasn’t linked to Steam at that time, and it’s meant to work with Oculus naturally since I’ve been using it since DK2.
The Pimax isn’t terrible for its price. The resolution isn’t high enough to see all the gauges in the planes, but the wider field of view helps with peripheral vision without needing to turn around completely.
I’m hoping the 2160x2160 resolution on the HP Reverb or the Acer prototype will finally be clear enough, though losing the FOV would be a big drawback.
