Step 8 details:
Data preparation:
When this setting is disabled (recommended), the process will solely remove files, applications, and settings rapidly.
If enabled, the setup will thoroughly sanitize the drive prior to installing the operating system, though this will extend the duration.
Did you select No or Yes?
A clean installation without cloud assistance would be faster.

Since I opted for a "clean install," I selected "Yes." The cloud section was completed before the reset or reinstall process started. Downloading everything only took a few minutes.

I haven't come across anyone using that approach for a "clean install." It might eventually be effective. I don't know how long it could take. Keep going and observe the results or switch to the usual method with a USB drive. Your decision.

Yeah. I thought it was just another way of doing it, using the same method as before.
It's INSANELY slow. Two hours have gone by and it's only at 38%.
Even if I wanted to switch to the media creation tool, would it really be possible while I'm in the middle of this reset? Wouldn't that risk damaging or breaking something?

Well, if a "cancel" command was issued, I wouldn't assume the drive would be bootable. You could say, "So what if it doesn’t boot? I’ll just do a clean reinstall with a USB stick anyway." The issue might be...do you have another way to reach Microsoft and create a traditional USB installer using the Media Creation Tool? Or is this your only PC, and if it won’t boot you’re completely stuck? Essentially, you might just have to wait and hope your current effort works out, even if it takes a long time.

Thank you for your patience. I understand. My only PC is currently not working, which is a bit frustrating 😅. If I could borrow someone else's computer, I'd use it to quickly download the media creation tool. So, if I were to do that, I would shut down my PC, restart it, and boot from the flash drive—right? Also, just to confirm, the flash drive needs to be completely empty except for the media creation tool, correct?

If you wish to start from the flash drive, enter the BIOS and adjust the boot sequence. OR...press a designated key during startup to open a boot menu and select the USB stick for that particular boot attempt only. The specific key differs depending on the device. Whatever is stored on the flash drive will be erased when you build the USB installer. I don’t have much experience using another computer to create the USB installer. It could be possible. In your position, I’d likely accept the current try if it has a chance. Any alternative method should succeed—just wait a bit longer and see if it works. Your decision.

When obtaining the media creation tool from the Microsoft website, it doesn't really matter which PC you use to download it from. All should work similarly.
Yes, you're likely correct. It might be best to wait a bit before proceeding.
A standard reinstall via the tool usually requires about 30 to 60 minutes.

Q1; Yes, it should be. Should be repeated. Don't rely solely on my confirmation.
Q2; Likely even fewer than that, influenced by your machine's speed and drives.
You're in a strange situation. I'm guessing the issue is cloud-related, though anyone can say.
