Your recent Windows 11 installation is progressing slowly. After switching from Windows 10, you upgraded to 11 and then initiated a format or clean install. It has now been over an hour and ten minutes, with only 25% completion. I’ve experienced similar delays before, typically taking between 30 minutes to an hour for multiple formats. Your system specs are: 9700k RAM, 500GB SSD, 1TB NVMe Samsung 970 drive, 2TB Toshiba HDD, and all drives are around 50% full. Thank you in advance.

Currently it's "resetting this PC" – displaying the Asus rog logo and the progress bar. All other formats or reinstalls I've tried used the media creation tool or something similar. Since I wanted to make backups, I used the only flash drive I had. This time I opted for the built-in feature in Windows – "reset this PC" – and then proceeded via the cloud download method. I haven't formatted my PC in four years, so I thought it would be a good idea to clear everything out, including the SSD. I'm not sure where I went wrong because it's taking a long time.

The thread title indicates a different approach is needed. The usual way would involve removing every partition with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool bootable USB drive.

I didn't understand that explanation. The point was simply to mention using the flash drive for backups since it was the only one I had.

Since I needed to proceed immediately and only had one flash drive, I thought the chosen method was similar to using the media creation tool. Does that make sense?

How much capacity was used previously?
Were any adjustments made to the configuration?

The distinction lies in how you handle media creation tools and the formatting of connected drives compared to your current approach.
