Over the past two to three months, I've experienced around 400 restarts. Most of these happened when the PC was running lightly. It only restarted a few times when the system was under heavy load. There were no hardware or driver changes in the last three months before the issues started. No overclocking has been done on any part of the setup. The RAM stays stable. After searching for causes both hardware and software-wise, I tried forcing the CPU to 2200GHz, which eliminated restarts completely. In the past ten days, there were no restarts at all. I can unlock it and run a stress test for five hours without any problems. However, if I keep doing that, random restarts occur while browsing or watching videos. I attempted to cap it at 3600GHz, but it still restarted. I believe locking it at 3600GHz instead of limiting it might solve the problem, though I’m unsure how to do that. It seems the boost from a low state or waking the core from sleep could be the reason. Is there any way to fix this without going to RMA? Anyone else have faced this issue? (Mobo is B450 gaming plus max - latest stable BIOS)
I faced the same problem with a Ryzen 1600 AF, which would crash when idle even after overclocking. I adjusted the overclock settings but only fixed it a month later by resetting the CMOS. Simply power down your PC completely, unplug it, remove the CMOS battery, wait at least 10 minutes, then reinsert it. After restarting, go into BIOS and reset it to default. Enter the time again and enable XMP; otherwise just stick to defaults and check if the error returns.
