For a reason the CDburnerxp isn't accepting my external disc drive. It seems to be attempting to use the old integrated disc drive, which is no longer functional. When I select Target device for the burning process, only the E drive appears in the drop-down menu. I recall reading that the F option should correspond to the external drive, but it's not available. Anyone have any advice? Thanks.

The request hints at an external drive status but doesn't provide direct confirmation. It asks for a visual reference while mentioning a Disk Management screen capture.

I'm not connected to my laptop right now, but I'll take a photo tomorrow. Choosing an external drive as the burn destination seems tricky because there are only two options, both labeled E which activates the integrated disc drive. The CDburnerxp indicates no disc in the drive after connecting the external drive. I tried it in another port but had no success. I managed to create a CD-R by clicking the next drive button in Windows Media Player, but I'm having trouble with DVDs. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I've figured it out. For some reason, cburnerxp doesn't recognize my external drive unless I connect it to the laptop before opening CDburnerxp. After plugging it in later, only the E drive appears as an option. I've also downloaded anyburn and will try that now. Thanks for the help. 👍
