Completed the installation and tried connecting via command prompt. Checked Device Manager for Ethernet adapter drivers—none present.

You haven't downloaded or installed the Ethernet driver from the ASUS support site.

It's actually strange... my mobile didn't include network drivers, yet it stayed connected normally since Windows used the standard ones. The main thing is figuring out *how* you got Windows installed (and when). Also, if you want a quick fix, using a USB stick is definitely the best option.
