i got a pc back in december last year with an i5 3470 and a gt 1030. minecraft worked fine there with no problems, and i enjoyed it. later i upgraded to the 1050, which improved things, but then this year i switched to a 1060 3g. performance started to decline. in some games my 1060 outperformed my previous setup, but in gta online and singleplayer it would lag, though in singleplayer on minecraft it seemed to get better. when i got the 1060, i noticed it was giving decent fps, but then it became choppy and eventually had lag spikes that kept happening. i spent around 600 dollars on a new ryzen 7 2700x build, hoping it would fix the issues, but it only slightly improved minecraft performance—mainly in fps—but the lag still persisted. it’s now running at about 180 fps, then skips and drops to 60hz without any changes. i’ve replaced the cpu, motherboard, power supply, and ram (overclocked ram to 3200mhz), but the graphics card remains unchanged. in gta i still experience lag spikes occasionally, and nothing is maxing out—my gpu, cpu, ram, or drivers aren’t the problem. i’m not sure what’s causing it, but i’m trying to figure it out. temps are also not high at all.

The 1050 is a 2GB or 4GB card, and the games are stored on a hard drive or SSD.

Have you retained the previous Windows setup or performed a fresh (clean) installation?
Are you applying the most recent BIOS updates for your motherboard and the newest AMD Chipset drivers?

There were several updates to the F42 bios, with this latest F50 being the third if not the fourth iteration. You're behind by about 5-7 versions.
Agesa 1.0.0.3 enhances gaming performance and game support; Agesa 1.0.0.4 improves boot time, memory compatibility, and adds other adjustments.
Update your bios.
(I'm using a Gigabyte Aorus X470 Ultra Gaming board and adhere to their bios and driver updates.)
